Microphone Stand setup
- Loosen screw and slide base down
- Make sure legs are fully extended and make sure base is at the bottom of the stand stem.
- Loosen the screws and adjust the boom.
- Loosen the collar to adjust the stand to appropriate height.
- Attach the mic clip and loosen the screw on the swivel. Screw the clip on by twisting the boom anti-clockwise.
- Attach microphone to mic clip.
How to roll a lead
1. Make sure your lead is smooth with no kinks or knots.
2. Take the male or female end of the lead and hold it pointing towards your body (or away from your body depending on the 'feel' of the lead.
3. Roll the lead around your hand making a circle.
4. Then grab the lead with your hand facing outward and bring the lead around to your chest making another circle.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 until no lead is left.
Types of Leads
Balanced
Balanced connections employ three conductors, one for the positive and one for the negative phase of the signal, and one for the ground. This ensures maximum protection against hum and interference. Servo-balanced connections achieve this electronically, whereas galvanically isolated connections rely on a transformer.
